Hericium erinaceus also called Lion's Mane Mushroom,

These are wild, not cultivated. They will have some debris from the woods. They are considered a gourmet mushroom by many people, and have a seafood-like flavor, somewhat like the taste of shrimp or lobster, but it is not an overwhelming flavor. So, if you are allergic to shell fish this is a great substitute. They do have medicinal properties as well. The Lion's Main is a fresh and edible mushroom. These mushrooms have a 5-7 day shelf life. Keep refrigerated as soon as you receive them, do not store in plastic. You can also clean and freeze them to extend the shelf life to longer.
