The herpes simplex virus (HSV) is categorized into 2 types: HSV-1 and HSV-2. HSV-1 is mainly transmitted by oral-to-oral contact, causing oral herpes (including symptoms known as cold sores), but it can also lead to genital herpes. HSV-2 is a sexually transmitted infection that causes genital herpes. Good For: Type 1 and 2 HPV Oral and Genital Herpes, Cold Sores, and Shingles.
Avoid foods high in Arginine such as nuts, chocolate, oats, and orange juice (Sour Oranges Approved Only). Avoid foods high in sugar and highly processed foods containing refined white flours. Avoid alcoholic beverages, non-diet sodas, and powdered drink mixes.
Increase daily water consumption. It is recommended you drink at least 1 gallon of spring water per day. Increase intake of foods containing Lysine such as avocados, apricots, mangoes, beets, leeks, plum and cherry tomatoes, pears, green and red peppers, chickpeas, hummus, quinoa, and amaranth. Increase daily exercise when possible. Increase rest and relaxation. If sleeping for 7 hours or more per night is not possible, try to make up the hours when you can.
