SUNSHINE NIACIN, also called nicotinic acid or Vitamin B3, is a water-soluble member of the B complex family. SUNSHINE NIACIN is one of the most stable B vitamins, as it is resistant to the effects of heat, light, air, acid, and alkali. Niacin is critical for synthesizing coenzymes that play a role in hundreds of bodily functions. However, its primary role is to obtain usable energy from food by supporting the enzymes responsible for cellular metabolism.
SUNSHINE NIACIN is the immediate release form of this vitamin, not a timed or slow release.
POTENTIAL BENEFITS OF NIACIN SUPPLEMENTS: SUNSHINE NIACIN is critical for transforming food into energy within the body. It is a precursor for the nucleotide nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). NAD exists in an oxide and reduced form, which comprise a REDOX (oxidation-reduction) pair. A NAD REDOX reaction occurs when one NAD molecule oxidizes to transfer an electron to another NAD molecule. This electron transfer is a significant source of cellular energy.
SUNSHINE NIACIN AS AN ANTIOXIDANT: SUNSHINE NIACIN supplements exert antioxidant effects as well. Niacin is a cofactor for many antioxidant enzymes and energizes these enzymes through REDOX reactions. The body needs an adequate supply of NAD to protect and repair cells damaged by oxidative stress.
SUNSHINE NIACIN FOR CHOLESTEROL: SUNSHINE NIACIN influences several lipids found in the blood, including HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. SUNSHINE NIACIN supplements may be able to help balance the blood levels of these lipids. Improving blood fat levels also supports heart health. Niacin offers additional support for heart health by releasing prostaglandins. Prostaglandins reduce inflammation and help widen blood vessels, which improves blood flow.
SUNSHINE NIACIN FOR SKIN: SUNSHINE NIACIN anti-inflammatory properties promote skin health. It also helps protect skin from sun damage. SUNSHINE NIACIN may improve hyperpigmentation on the skin by acting as a lightning agent.
POTENTIAL SUNSHINE NIACIN SIDE EFFECTS: SUNSHINE NIACIN may increase blood sugar levels. Individuals that have problems regulating their blood sugar should speak with their physician before taking niacin supplements. High doses of niacin supplements may also cause the skin to flush.
